Last Year at this time we were planning our oldest daughter, Maci's, high school graduation and getting her Senior Trip to Hawaii planned. No, she didn't go with other seniors, she opted to go with family and there to the left is my foot print on Sunset Beach. As huge as it is, that's not really the size of my footprint. The sand is loose, hot as all get out, and very deep. However, it represents the irony of me living for my family. Yes, I teach others to live for ourselves, but to an extent. Let's get real, when you have children you will put their needs (often times) before your own, but their needs actually become your own.
They need you to be healthy, they need you to be happy, they need you to feel love, give love, leave your footprint in the sand, play in the water, feel free to make decisions, and not be under the thumb or pressures of others. They need you to be focused and not stressed because when you are you forget, snap, get angry, smile less, and tend to put off more than you might care to admit. Today take the time that you need to live for yourself, but in being your best self to live for others. Yes, I said you have to live the life that makes you joyous to live for others. Here's to living #guiltfreebydesign.
